After all, competing with that would only bring grief.

What inspired you to write this?

I was recently asked out on a date (more specifically a destination with a pilot), but it is clear that I am entirely in love with another. I typically do not tell my inspiration as they may or may not be semi-autobiographical, and I like for the reader to be left with simply the words and what it evokes for them.

Thank you. Interesting as I have never written “with” someone… I think of my — mostly love and loss — poetry writing as an individual endeavor. I will definitely check out your work!
